The glamour world:
The red carpet and people with disabilities.
Do they go together? Knowing me, I just went for it...
Here is my celebrity gallery.
I have met most of the people pictured here in person over the last few years, or I managed to get within three meters of them. I even spoke to most of them personally. They are just people like everyone else...
On May 12, 2019, there was an autograph session for the TV series “Notruf Hafenkante,” which is broadcast on ZDF, at the Hamburg Harbor Birthday celebration. I was there and was able to add a few actors to my autograph collection. (Gerit Kling, Rhea Harder-Vennewald, Sanna Englund, Aybi Era, Fabian Harloff, Bruno F. Apitz, Harald Maack, Matthias Schloo, Marc Barthel)
On March 12, 2019, WDR visited me. Christian Saftig was my personal assistant for a day for the program “Warum Ich?” (Why Me?) on Lokalzeit. You can find the program and a making-of video of the wonderful day on my YouTube channel. We all had a lot of fun and Christian even received a certificate from me as the “Pretty Much Best Assistant of the Month.”
On October 29, 2018, I met German tennis player Carina Witthöft for a round of ping pong at Google Pixel Studio Hamburg. This stylish studio is a place where anyone who wants to try out Google products can let off steam.
At the beginning of August 2018, CSD Hamburg took place under the motto “Hamburg is not prudish, but proud.” At one event, I was able to experience singer, drag artist, and 2014 Eurovision Song Contest winner Thomas Neuwirth, alias Conchita Wurst, up close.
On July 17, 2018, I visited the small festival in the Great Garden in the Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover. This is the largest cabaret festival in Europe. I was able to marvel at well-known artists such as Frans Custers (clown) and Tricky Nicki (comedy) up close. See for yourself.
On May 12, 2018, I was in the front row in front of the stage at the Grand Prix Party in Hamburg. There, I caught a few celebrities from the German music scene on camera. Among others, the presenter Barbara Schöneberger, the performers Lotte, Mike Singer, Mary Roos, Max Giesinger, Sasha, and the band Voxxclub.
On July 21, 2017, Prince William and Duchess Kate attended a children's concert at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. When the two of them, accompanied by Mayor Olaf Scholz, came out of the concert hall, I was right there. A beautiful, radiant couple!
Now even TV stars work for me ;)
Two of my employees took part in the WDR show “Duell der Dauercamper” (Battle of the Permanent Campers) and promptly took first place! Congratulations from me! I was of course happy to accept their invitation to the winners' party in August 2015, where I had the opportunity to meet the two hosts of the show, Anja Backhaus and Fatih Cevikollu.
On January 20, 2015, Reinhold Messner was in Bielefeld and gave a talk about himself and his life. Of course, I didn't miss the opportunity to listen to the talk and then take a photo with THE German mountaineer.
In November 2014, by a lucky coincidence, I was able to attend the Klitschko vs. Kubrat Pulev boxing match. After the fight, I had the opportunity to have my picture taken with the original boxing glove. Afterwards, I was able to greet Henning Baum.
In July 2014, I met Peter Maffay at the Harley Days in Hamburg.
In March 2014, I met Katrin Felton, known as Miss Germany, at a mermaid workshop in Bielefeld. The Aquatika diving school, of which I am a member, organized the workshop at Ishara. Here are a few impressions.
Now I have not only met Olivia Jones' assistant Sven Florian, but also the original herself in March 2014.
After a year's break, it's continuing this year. The kick-off was in January 2014: I met Tim Melzer in Hamburg at his restaurant, the “Bullerei,” which is definitely worth a visit, by the way! We chatted a bit about Hamburg and he told me that his first cooking show was in Bielefeld at the restaurant “GlückundSeligkeit.”
In August 2012, while on vacation, I had the opportunity to see stand-up comedian Sven Hieronymus, the “Rocker vom Hocker” (rocker from the stool), live and in color, and to meet him in person afterwards. He is known from “Quatsch Comedy Club,” “Nightwash,” “TV Total,” and “Mario Barth präsentiert Deutschlands beste Comedians” (Mario Barth presents Germany's best comedians). Back then, he wanted only one thing: to become a rocker! Today, he is a comedian, author, and columnist.
At the “Rettungsschirm für alle” (Rescue Parachute for All) demonstration in Berlin at the end of April 2012, I listened to the speech by Hubert Hüppe, the now former Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Disabled Persons (left picture). I also met him on June 6, 2012, in Hamburg at the Inclusion Party, where I had the opportunity to discuss the topic of “inclusion” and the Inclusion Map of Germany with him.
In March 2012, Chancellor Angela Merkel was at the Stadthalle Bielefeld for a “Dialogue on the Future of Germany.” When the event was over, I was able to photograph her in front of the Stadthalle. Unfortunately, she was too quick for a photo together.
At the 2012 Berlinale, I met the chief organizer of the event, Dieter Kosslick. He gave me a pin with the Berlin Bear on it.
At the premiere of the film “Die Wand” (Berlinale 2012), I had the opportunity to talk to Martina Gedeck.
The following photo gallery shows celebrities I met in person at the 2012 Berlinale.
The Reeperbahn makes it possible. This is where I met Olivia Jones' flamboyant assistant Sven Florian in December 2011.
I attended the Berlinale in Berlin for the first time in spring 2011 and gained many impressions, meeting politician Claudia Roth, American actor Jeff Bridges, and German-Turkish film director Fatih Akin.
Furthermore, in July 2009, I happened to meet comedian, actor, and novelist Ralf Schmitz while strolling through Frankfurt. He was there shooting a comedy film.

In June 2009, I attended a reading in Bielefeld, where I had the opportunity to meet and get to know German survival expert and human rights activist Rüdiger Nehberg. He read from his adventure book.
In April 2009, I attended a reading by journalist and author Ulrich Wickert in Bielefeld.
As I am a big fan of Thomas Gottschalk and “Wetten dass…?” (a German TV show), I spent two years applying to be a disabled audience member. Unfortunately, places on the show for people with disabilities are very limited. I finally got tickets for January 2009 in Offenbach, where this photo was taken.
In June 2005, I had the opportunity to meet Christian Redl, the world record holder in apnea diving, and we became friends. He has become a supporter of our project Diving for People with Disabilities.
